Guy in my club had a pretty good Saturday last weekend. He and a partner
are fishing the Fishers of Men trail here this year. In the second tournament of the year at West Point Saturday, they done good. They brought in 5 weighing 25.64 pounds. Big fish went 7 pounds. Two more over 5 each. West Point seems hot this year - lots of 5 pound plus fish. Chris said they caught their fish on spinnerbaits and rattletraps in shallow water, and landed most in about 30 minutes. The Fishers of Men trail is a Christian trail started a few years ago and now cover 26 states, even Wisconsin! Several states have multiple trails. A good many of the guys I know fish with their sons on this trail - seems like a good group of folks. Their web site is http://www.fishersofmenministries.com/ I won my club tournament Sunday at Bartlett's Ferry, the next lake below West Point, with a limit - but it weighed only 7.88 pounds. Details later. |
