Saturday morning, I decided to put some time in on Winnebago for some
largemouth in a few channels that I have had some success in the past. The first channel was directly across from the launch, so I launched and motored over, and then dropped my trolling motor and just started to fish. I noticed as I was launching that a gentleman had just pulled up in another bass boat and was getting ready to launch. So back to me fishing the opening of the channel, I hear a big outboard kick down and here is the nitro coming right for me wide open. Well he stops about 20 yards short of me, but continues to idle the big motor past me, thinking he is going to go deeper into the channel (it is a small channel and that ****ed me off that he would even pass me up to fish the channel) , but no he stops about 30 feet in front of me, and starts fishing right in front of me. As loud as I could I said, I can't f*(*in believe this sh*t. He wouldn't even turn around. Then I said as loud as I could , "That is all right, it is a big lake, and I don't need these fish, I know how to find my own". I guess my biggest issue is, why did he do that ? I know I look really you, do you think that played a role in his boldness? I think that if I looked older he wouldn't have done it, but who knows. I guess it goes back to etiquette, and if we were both in a tournament , would he have pulled the same crap. It ****ed me off for about a half an hour, before I went to another spot, and caught 3 legals in about 3 minutes, then I really didn't worry about it anymore. But it still makes me wonder what would motivate someone to do something like that, something that I would never ever think of doing, tournament or not. Chris |
