Yeah, it's a beautiful stream made ugly....kinda like some women who change
their hair to look like everyone else or some such similar...I seldom fish that river... Except for the reaches down below Springfield. It's killer for small mouth. Big holes fish deep. We have the Mad and the Stillwater and the Miami...good fishing all. I live several hundred yards up from where the Stillwater joins the Miami and usually get a little fishing in every evening weather permitting. I just walk down and start chucking wooly buggers. I was starting to get into rock bass and last year's smallmouth when we had this last weather change. Let's definitely hook - up. Tim Carter lives up towards the Big and Little Darbys - reputed to be among the best in the state... A great spring jaunt is the Grand up on the Lake. Decent fishing, excellent access and a lot of pubs. If the hearing goes well (and I expect to be totally exonerated) I'll have June 11 - 15 free for a mini clave... probly be the first in Ohio... john ... spending a lot of time at the University of Dayton Law School Library...anybody need a good paralegal? "Goat" wrote in message news:K56ce.19014$yc.8345@trnddc07... asadi wrote... I will be unable to attend the clave this year, to quote Waylon and Willie, "For reasons that I'd rather not disclose." Hopefully, these shackles shall first and earthquakes in divers places will set me free.... failing that..... ---snipped--- john Sorry to hear about penns. I am not going as well so I can't help you at all in that regard. However.... I only live 45 min to an hour from you tops. We should terrorize some Stillwater smallies sometime. My schedule is in a constant state of flux and the river is blown out now anyway but I am around. I have made one trip to the Mad this year. I was only there for a couple hours but still managed to land a nice little 12.5" brown. I was pressed for time but it was worth the trip. But I still have trouble with the channalization. Damn is that ugly to look at. There are spots that are like fishing a flooded gravel driveway. But just in the last year I have seen improvements with the structure and habitat placements that have been done. Like I said I'm around.... I ain't near as much fun as a clave..... but I do hit my head a lot. |
