Default Our first time!!

I am taking my son and step son on Tueday for the first time.... all three
of us are complete novices... Last year I found 2 5ft "spinning rods" with
reels (low quality) a float a hook and weights in a blister pack for £3.95
each.... They seem to be a good size for them and they're chuffed with
them!!

I have got a 12ft carp rod, a leeda merit 30 reel and a huge carp landing
net.... all got on the cheap from the Argos staff sale by a friend...

Gonna go out tomorrow and get the rest of the bits and bobs I need to get us
all going on the Grand Union canal thats about 3 mins stroll from our house
in Milton Keynes.

My main worry is that we will catch nothing and they will lose interest and
slate Dad for being rubbish!! Regardless of whether the lads wanna take it
up or not I'm gonna stick with it and hopefully learn enough to get a few
out. Then maybe they'll get more out of it as a pastime.

Any advice on techniques would be good...

Either way, i'll give you all the score when we're done... So fingers
crossed for some good news and a good days fishing!!

Regards

Andy
