All this talk about vises and tying reminded me that I *promised* myself
I wouldn't wait until December this year to hold the annual Dog Days Fly Swap. This will be the TAJFIADDFS (Third Annual Joe Fleischman in Absentia Dog Days Fly Swap, for those counting such things.) This swap is for patterns you've found most successful during the warm months of summer. The rules are simple: If 15 people join, you tie 15 flies. If 1,000 people join. . . well, let's shoot for somewhere between 15-30. The past few years have been between 15-20. More rules for tagging, shipping, etc. will follow once we've established if there is any interest in the swap. Since I'm in the process of moving from one home to another, I'm going to set the sign-up period from now through August 22. That's the date that I return to work and known-working Internet connectivity. It's also probably the date that I'll be able to find my tying stuff again. ![]() BTW, one of the nice things about this move is that I'll be able to establish territory as a fly-tying zone. WooHOOOO! Just reply to this post if you're interested and I'll put you on the list. -- TL, Tim ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |
