Default Yamaha motor water pressure problems

Took my boat to HD Marine last week. They cleaned out the popit valve -
something like a thermostat. It is behind the electronic stuff on the
back of the motor and took a while to get to. It had grit in it. They
also replaced the water pump impeller - it was a little worn.

They said the popit valve stayed closed at low speeds to build up
pressure then opened at high speeds so I am not sure how it could affect
the high speed water pressure. Anyway, I now have water pressure.

The low water pickup on those HPDI motors may be the problem. Like Rich
said, I will be real careful from now own in shallow water.
