Flyfising ops in Asia?

I know I posted this about a year ago, but now that I'm here, place
names and distances have more meaning to me.

So, drawing on the experience and resources of fellow roffians, can
anyone tell me about flyfising opportunities in Asia, especially
freshwater? I've already figured out all you can do on HK island is
SWFF, but I'm not sure about the New Territories yet. Roger is
researching Japan, and we'll certainly get to do some there, and we're
planning a trip to NZ. But what about Thailand, Vietnam, mainland China
(I'm making a trip to Yunnan province in March), and other locales? I'm
interested in places where I can get to on a 3-day weekend from here,
to get my fix. I am also interested in Dream Trips, like the ones the
boys did to Kamchatka. You only live once....
