Hello everyone! I have enjoyed reading this groups suggestions and comments
for some time now. I dearly LOVE fishing. I experimented the other day with a lure and I came up with a trick that really helps me when I jig fish without weedguards! I bought several fantastic handmade jigs from a fellow selling them through eBay. These jigs are hair jigs. They were a little pricey and they came without built in weedguards. Largemouth Bass loved them, however I was constantly hanging them resulting in losing a couple. I thought for a while as to how to make them weedless without effecting the action{weight} or affecting the look. After several weak attempts I came up with a solution. I simply used my daughters brace's- bands. These are small "rubber bands" used for her teeth braces! I looped them through the eye of the jig and then "hooked" the other looped end under the barb on the business end of the jig hook. I hope this is not too confusing. Anywho, this does not seem to effect the action in any way, and you do not notice it at all! I can now throw this jig right straight into a sunken tree top without hanging up! I don't notice this effecting the hook setting ability either. This is just a discovery that I wanted to share with you peeps just in case you have experienced this dilemma. Good Luck Fishing, and thight lines to ALL! " Roostermayo" |
