Georgia Fishing

Before starting a club, visit all the local tackle shops, and boat stores.
Ask what clubs already exist in the area. I bet you will atleast find some
decent bass clubs. Probably a "Rod & Gun" club as well.

If you have a hard time chatting with people and asking questions just go
into to buy something small that you could use anyway like a package of
hooks or two. When you are checking out ask the guy at the counter what
local fishing clubs there are. You will probably find some prejudices
between different clubs in the area, but don't let that bother you. Those
guys have lived there for years and they know each other. Its just a matter
of finding which clubs you have more fun with and do more of the kind of
activities you are interested in.

Try to avoid getting involved with the management and politics of any club
for the first year or more until you learn what is entailed and how you get
along with all the guys in the club. You can have a blast at a club
function and not particularly like some of the other guys if the guys you
fish with most of the time are ok.
