I took my new pop-up (well, new to me) on it's maiden voyage, along with the
wife, to Boone county to see what would unfold. A delightful drive down I-64 and 77, beautiful scenery and we ended up at Grandfather Campground. Not my favorite place to stay but I knew it was there and it was handy. We went out fishing the nest day and had a blast, catching many browns and Mark stopped by for dinner. We made some hamburgers and chatted until it got cool in the evening. The next morning we went to see Tom Brown and met Greg and fell in love with his campground. Greg was a good fellow. We took in two different streams that day and caught many browns...of course you never have you camera when you are catching fish, ain't that right? On the second creek, I did a three quarter Reed. Water was shipping over top of my waders, my hands no purchase and I stayed afloat only but the smallest of miracles and my wife had to pull me out. Embarrassing. On Friday we fished with Mark. Now, without Mark we caught fish, with Mark we did not....hmmmmmm. Finished the day with a nice dinner and the good company of Mark. all in all, delightful trip. john |
