Thanks Using smaller bugs this time of the year is almost certainly going to result in more sunfish/bream/etc. As others have suggested, switch to larger poppers, flies, etc. and that'll go a long way to solving your "problem." Heck, whip a chunk of bucktail (and a hackle or two if handy) onto a larger (say a 2, give or take 2-3 sizes) humpy hook, attach a cork head, and get after 'em. If you have the materials, do a variety of color combinations and experiment. If you don't tie, Google up "bass popper" and match them up at your favorite tackle purveyor. HTH, R |
