Default pan fishing

Hi All,

My wife and I are refugees from New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina wiped us
out so we have moved to Western North Caolina to be close to our
youngest daughter and our granchildren. I was an avid and inveterate
hunter and fisherman in Louisiana for over 45 years but most of the
fishing was sal****er. I've been freshwater fishing a few times but it
was very limited.

Boat, motor, pirogue, rods, reels and tackle boxes are all destroyed so
I'm gradually replacing the fishing equipmeny. Doubt that I will have a
boat again.

Any tips on fishing for perch, bluegills, sunfish or other types of
panfish would be greatly appreciated. I've just recently been given a
Mitchell 308x Gold reel and rod combination and have bought a few
lures. When you start replacing things, that's when you find out how
much you really have lost! I had two tackle boxes full of things
acquired since the 60's and I know that much of it will not be
replaceable. One was a floating fillet knife that I used all of the
time, particularly when we caught speckled trout (sea trout) in large
numbers.

Right now I'm trying to find a source for an extra spool or two to load
up with different size line. I have the six and eight pound line spools
but would like a ten and maybe a four pound line on a spool.

We're living in Henderson County in North Carolina and would like to
have a few locations where we can fish from the banks.

Thanks.
