Default Spooky Bass

Need some opinions on this. Fishing the other day and chucking, pitching and
casting to my favorits spots. The minute my lure is let go, know matter what
the presentation, I was seeing fish just splash and run, sometimes 5-10
feet from where my lure entered the water. Now I have spooked some fish in
the past but this day it seemed like there were a bunch of spooked fish It
was like they were seeing the lure coming and said : "Oh no, I'm outta here"

How do you approach this type of situation?, and nope it wasn't a matter of
letting the bait enter the water quietly either, it didn't seem to matter
