I'm thinking of bringing meats for our fishing trip in July. Anyone use a vacuum food sealer? I avoid "real food" in bear country. It's just too much hassle to cook, clean up and cart out the garbage not to mention dangerous if you don't do all of the above just exactly right. A bear can smell a piece of bacon cooking from literally miles away. I stick to freeze dried and dehydrated. We have a food dehydrator that gets a lot of use before an extended trip, but we've never had a vacuum sealer. -- Ken Fortenberry |
