headed back down to Harkers....
hey fellahs, thought i'd drop-in again and say hello. lil' trip report.... i was fortunate enough to spend november 1-10 down east on harkers island, cackalacky.... chasin' albies. on the fly, i don't think there is a more adrenaline pumping experience then the initial one minute or so run the lil' tunnys provide the long rodder ..... it is incredibly awesome. than it's all meat and potatoes.... crank-run-crank-run-crank... finally, you purchase the fly line back on the reel and crank some more..... 10 or so minutes after the take, you reach over and tail the fish, haul him into the boat, and release him with a headfirst thrust (so oxygen rakes his gills and empowers him) back into the sea to see what may well be, pound for pound, the most exciting sal****er fly angling experience a man can enjoy. it's addictive and ... well, albie headed back down to harkers after turkey day. again, long time fellahs.... hope all is well with all you surly bastids ;-) waldo |
