Just wondering if anyone can suggest the best campground in Yellowstone for fishing access. I'm thinking the Madison campground, but that's just a guess because I know it's close to the Madison. Is there a better campground someone knows about in the park with make your coffee, poop, and fish availablity? Thanks for any suggestions. There are campgrounds at Slough Creek, Pebble Creek and Tower Falls in the NE corner of the Park. All have decent fishing within walking distance but they don't take reservations, all three are first-come, first-served. You might ask Jeffie about the fine accommodations at the so-called Fawn Lake. ;-) -- Ken Fortenberry We stayed at the Madison Campground in the late 1980's in June with a 26' motor home. Is a nice location. Walk over and fish the Madison. Not a lot of fish that I could see near the campground. Did get one, probably on a woolybugger. Is the only campground in the park with hotsprings you can get in. Down at the rivers edge. As to crowded. Did not strike me as wall to wall. Warning! The buffalo do use the tent tiedown ropes as rubbing ropes. As to no stores for 15 miles. Why not buy enough stuff for a week at one time? |
