Unless you are "ripping" your line from the water, swinging a fly doesn't increase the chance of foul hooking. AK Skim I've purchased popsicles with many different colors. On most rivers I would agree, but I've seen all to many fishermen swing flys into the sides of steelhead and salmon on the SR without a lift or rip. Intentional or not, their doing it. And the good ones can line it right into their mouths. Oh, the stories I could tell.
