We have several Mitchell 782 for salmon fishing in NY ...they were
discontinued several years ago and are scarse on eBay. The unique feature other than large capacity, is that the rewind handle does NOT spin when a fish streams out the line. We frequently use just mono and put 500+ yards of 12 pound Trilene ...peel off 10 yards at a time when it gets scuffed up on rocks. Are there any other manufacturers in the under $100 price, that have this rewind feature? If not, has anyone had experience with the new Okuma "Airframe 7/9" which is also LA, graphite, star drag, and simple design (but almost toooo inexpensive). The "Integrity" series are way too heavy and triple the price. http://www.okumafishing.com/products/flyfishing.htm Any and all commentary would be appreciated. TIA Stew Corman from sunny Endicott |
