Picking a particular spot to recommend would be hard, but if you're
looking for "easy" mountain cabin-like getaways, something on or near a ski resort would probably work well. You can ride the lifts for beautiful views, the towns always have good eating, shopping, etc., and if you pick carefully you should be able to find decent fishing relatively close (e.g., Breckenridge has the Blue river tailwater nearby, plus numerous other choices). Lodging should be trivial to find, too. Ken's right, you should watch what you pick in regards to runoff season, but creeks can be surprisingly low in the morning, and stillwaters and tailwaters are always fishable. HTH, Jon. |
