Default DS2 For My Dad

Christmas is approaching, and this is the time of year when we say
'cherish the times' because we never know when it might be the last
Christmas, especially with the older folks. So my dad has expressed an
interest in learning how to fly fish. He's an old bait caster and I'm
sure he wants to learn to fly fish as a way of bonding with his only
child (me). And I view it as a way of bonding with an 80 year old WW II
veteran who is still doing pretty good for his age. He's spry for his
age and I know we could fish together (maybe even successfully). So
would a 9' 5 wt. DS2 be good for him to cast optimally when we go out
next spring? We're in Massachusetts. We fish the Millers and Deerfield
Rivers.
