......well, not exactly a fishing trip, but Mr. Makela and I went up to Cabelas
today. Fished through bargains galore and the major purchase for me was a St.Croix Avid flyrod, 9 foot for 3 weight, that I found in the Bargain Room. Not only did I procure a replacement for the warped rod tube I raffled off at the clave, but I landed a perfectly functional light fly rod for $108. Mike, on the other hand, was at Cabelas to purchase raingear. He left with no raingear, but a 4 piece St. Croix Ultra from the same bargain room for $128. New weapons for us both to unleash on the unsuspecting trout at Penn's(although mine will see far more duty on the Tully, Big Fishing Creek and the Local Trickle.....a very sweet, controllable long light rod!!!).
