Default Decisions, decisions!

Have you ever wondered why?
a fish decides to take a certain fly?
of course you have, and so have I.

Fish are simple creatures, so it seems,
unaffected by an angler´s complex dreams,
they just eat flies, and live in streams.

Do I really need expensive complex gear?
this may not be the case at all, I fear.
A stick will work, and would not be so dear.

All those books and hours, the cunning plan,
to place a fish within the hand of man,
complicated, hard to do within a mortal span.

Yet another deadly fly, another stealthy ploy,
a harmless fish to cheat, and then destroy,
simply so that angler may enjoy.

To learn these things each angler beravely tries,
and so to catch a lot of fish on flies,
an inkling he may have at last, and then just like the fish, he dies.
