Default WD40 Pike Attractor

Hi. I have heard of people using WD40 as a Pike attractor.

Anyone know why Pike would be attracted to WD40?

BTW, I am not saying I agree/dis-agree with it's use, just interested in why
it would improve the catch rate. If it does?

I've heard this too, and I use it on my lures for it's original
purpose. Trouble is, I catch so few fish to make any judgement!
Could the attraction be its stink?
