I fish with poly leaders. For trout, I use the 5', and add 4' of tippet.
You can get them in a variety of densities, from floating, Intermediate to type 7 sinking. I only use the sinking variety on lakes. they are better at turning over flies, I do a better job of changing tippet for the occasion, and I like to know that my fly is at the same depth as my flyline. Using nylon leaders, I have had the occasion, that I am counting my sinking line down, and I look out and see that my fly is still floating on the surface. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Are you still wasting your time with spam?... Ok another one of my many questions. .... I was thinking it would be good to stick with one brand of leader to get to know it's qualities for turning over flies and such. I've had some 9ft leaders hat could turn a fly over and some that would create a huge wind knot with the same fly. So i'm looking to see where peoples loyalty lies as far as leaders and tippet go?
