Default RFD: ROFB Charity

I think we should as a group adopt a charity. I know some here have more
than others, and we would certainly not all contribute or even in the same
degree.

No formal fundraisers, except perhaps a raffle or donation jar at the ROFB
classics. Simply a group we can agree to support. I would go so far as to
suggest we start a fund and donate to different charities, but that would
require management. No I am thinking of something simpler.

For example, The Society For Disabled Anglers (substitute a real charity
name). I think it should be for something angling related if possible, and
something that would benefit anglers across the country if not around the
world. I am open to suggestions.

Do a search on EKIII in rec.motorcycles.harley. I'm not suggesting we adopt
Eddie here, but rather to show what has been done or not done to support the
EKIII Charitable Trust. It is a great example of the kind of involvement I
am suggesting.

If people sell stuff and do not need the cash they donate the proceeds.
Sometimes people make donations out of the goodness of their heart. Other
times people need the money, but they will post it on the newsgroup for sale
and offer to donate a percentage of the net to the fund.

Nobody is particulary obligated to participate, but a lot of people do.
