I know a guy in Rhode Island who is the most anal of any fly fisherman
I know when it comes to the care of fly lines. He's in his late 80's
and claims to have not replaced a fly line in 9-10 years. He's a big
believer in applying amor-all but he also cleans his lines with soap
and water at least once a month and takes them off the reels in winter.
I've not done it myself.
