Well, we took a second place in the ABA Aluminum series tourney yesterday.
Whoo Hooo!!!! Unfortunately I wasted the lower unit on my little Force 50. I have been patching this motor together for some time, but I thinks it time to replace it. I'm sure it doesn't out anywhere close to its rated 50HP, and its getting harder and harder to find parts. The powerhead is sound, and the electronics are good, so I figure I'll sell it to somebody who has one for spare parts, but I am ready to put a newer motor on my aluminum boat. Abtually I am sure the lower unit is rebuildable as it still pushes the boat, but I think the gears in the nose cone went. The prop shaft rattles around, and it kicks in and out of gear in forward, and will hardly go into or stay in gear in reverse. We ran about ten miles back up river on it after it went so I am sure somebody who wanted to could put it back together. Anyway, I am officially in the market for a newer 50HP motor and controls. I suppose I'll check with iBoats and Jaco's Marine to see what they right now. I guess I'll wind up having to put off buying my new big boat for a few months. Oh well. -- ** FREE Fishing Lures ** Weekly drawing ** Public Fishing and Boating Forums ** www.YumaBassMan.com |
