I went to the Pinpoint and really liked it until I started having problems
and found out it had limitations that they don't tell you about. Mercury, who owns Motorguide who makes Pinpoint gave me the runaround. Cabelas came to my rescue. I now have a 65lb Minnkota with the Universal sonar hooked to a Lowrance X97. The only problem I am having is I often hear a clicking sound coming from the head of the trolling motor. It is definitely the Lowrance pinging that I'm hearing. Minkota was no help and gave me a BS answer. I took the top off, rerouted the cable and ty wrapped it in place, but haven't been back out since I did that. Hopefully tomorrow. Other than that, no problems. -- Bill Chesapeake, Va "Charles Summers" wrote in message ... Anyone have anything positive, negative, or neutral to say about trolling motors with the built in universal transducers? I'm going to be replacing my Motorguide 43# motor with a Minn Kota Maxxum 65# 24v motor, and was thinking about getting the model with the universal sonar, and I know theres someone here with one similar. Opinions? -- Charles B. Summers Secret Weapon Lures http://www.secretweaponlures.com |
