Default Finally got it! (Garmin 162)

With the RAM mount... I can see it from anywhere in the boat. Planning on
mounting it to the right of the console shield, right behind my sonar.

Charles, consider mounting it outside the console like mine (if you
remember); That way you can spin it on the ram mount & view it from the

bow
too, comes in very handy.

ENJOY.

So far I really like this unit. I was able to upload just about all the
Tennessee lakes on the 2.5mb of memory, but chose to delete some of them

to
make room for a couple of Kentucky lakes that I'm planning on fishing

this
year.

Can't wait to get it mounted on the boat, and really can't wait to be on

the
boat myself actually. Our first club tournament is on the 20th and I

have
done NO pre-fishing! Haven't even seen the lake since December, so I

have
no
idea what the conditions are except for what I can read on the web-site.

I've decided to mount this unit right above my Garmin 160 sonar using a

RAM
mount, so I can either remove the unit, or just fold it out of the way

when
I need to put the cover on. I guess I'll need to drill a large enough

hole
to route the wires through, but what should I use to seal the hole to
prevent water from getting into the fiberglass? (Or is that even a

concern?
When I drill for the screws, I usually add a little silcone/caulking to

the
threads to keep the moisture out, but what about a larger hole that will

not
be completely filled? Maybe some kind of rubber gasket?

Thanks Y'all!
