Sounds like a plan is forming! I'm looking into plane tickets, and could
probably make myself be in that area around the weekend of March 26/27. At
this early stage, it looks like the sweetspot in my timing will be the
24-26ish. Are folks limited to a weekend thingy?

Nevermind.....April 1 is opening season statewide. Which sucks, because I
will probaby be flying back here on March 31. Where can a guy fish during
the window of March 20-31 between Maine and DC?

Gunpowder.

There is some year round fishing on the Kennebec and St George Rivers. There
may be some others I'm not aware of in the southern end of the state.

I could look this up online, but its simpler to post here. :-)

When does the openwater season begin in Maine for trout, togue and other
freshwater fly fishing? I'm going to be in state for the last week of
March, first week of April, and some of the southern water might be less
solid by then. If so, I'd like to fish.

In Vermont, the White River, downstream from the Bethel, Vt bridge.
Take exit 3 off of I-89.

You can fly fish for trout (brook, brown, rainbow) any river or stream in
New Hampshire from January 1 to Oct15.

If you want to fish lakes, then the season starts April 1 (if you can find
any unfrozen lake on that date). Also, Landlocked Salmon, and Lake Trout
season (on any water) doesn't start until April 1.
