I think it was from the guys that make fish attractants, but can't remember which one right now. Their theory made sense to me though... I have been fishing and boats pass me on the other side of the slough and you would think they were having an Italian feast! Im glad the insect repelant test was exposed....Ive always heard that you never get any of the "OFF" on the lures or youll never catch any fish.. Your right about "DEET", this repellent has no DEET in it. Have you ever tasted deet ? that is the nastiest stuff in the world, no wounder it keeps insects from bitting so well. I would bet it would keep a bear from eating you, he might still kill you, but he wouldn't eat you :-) What is the name of this repellent? Does it have "DEET" in the formula? ive always heard that was the active ingredient. I really don't want to give the name here, I don't want to be accused of spamming, because I helped develop it. Ok..whatever...OFF does well for me regardless of the taste! |

LOL, I think that you were being fed a line Charles by guys that are pushing something other than garlic. While I'm not a huge fan of scents while fishing, I've caught a lot of fish with garlic scented lures. My God, Chompers probably has the highest concentration of garlic of any lure and I've caught a ton of fish with them. The only problem is when I do fish them, I get a craving for Italian food! For the life of me, I don't understand why garlic would be attractive to fish, but then again, anise oil has been used too. (secret ingredient of the MTC 2006, BTW) I love Mega Strike as well, it is the only scent I have used for the last couple of years, I'm a FIRM believer in it,, but ,,,,,,,,,,,, Put some on your finger and smell it,, they swear it has no garlic in it,, well,,, they have sure imitated that garlic smell well :-) I have a tube of it here on my desk right now I would bet donuts to dollars, that's Garlic in Mega Strike, or some chemical that smells just like it. If I was selling Mega Strike, I sure would not want anyone to know you could make your own from Vaseline, and garlic powder -- Rodney Long, Inventor of the Mojo SpecTastic "WIGGLE" rig, SpecTastic Thread, Boomerang Fishing Pro. ,Stand Out Hooks ,Stand Out Lures, Mojo's Rock Hopper & Rig Saver weights, and the EZKnot http://www.ezknot.com |

Say what you will... but whenever I think I need something to help my fishing, it'll be Mega-Strike. That being said, I've never had any reason to use anything... especially on Powerworms. |
