A grebe is pretty scary up close with red eyes and a long sharp beak (and ****ed off). Bob Weiske My son in law caught a mink on the Bitterroot last year. I was ready to throw him (the son in law) out of the boat if the damn thing hadn't broke off right away. the mink hauled out on a rock near the bank and glared at us. pretty much evil incarnate. I caught a seal jigging anchovies off of the coast of one of the Channel Islands once upon a time. Luckily I broke it off before we had to figure out what to do with a po'd seal. jh |

I've caught clams a bunch of times while fishing in Ontario. I guess
the hook lands in their mouth and they grab on. Not much of a fight though |

This Spring I caught a 10" wild brown trout with the ring of a condom wrapped around its "neck" area. Wore a nasty gouge on top and in the throat area. Not really recognizing what it was at first I hurriedly removed it, inspected and dropped it. I did get photos of the damage caused, but wish I'd taken a photo before removing it. Save the jokes, I've heard them all from flyfishing friends...... Jeff |
