And the huge vehicles are still popular. sigh...

Well, it's kind of hard to tow a Triton TR21 with a Toyota Prius......

My problem is that I went smaller vehicle-wise and boat-wise both, a
long time ago, so I've got nowhere to go for savings now. I run a G3
Eagle 175 with a Yamaha 50 on it. I'd save some gas switching to a 4
stroke, but I don't bun all that much now, and the trade-up price tag
would take years to reach break-even. Can't live without my trips to
Champlain every three weeks or so, and each of them between towing up
and back, and back & forth while I'm up there for a couple days, is
about 50 gallons in the truck and another 10 or 12 in the boat. Other
than that and maybe a yearly trip to Maine and a few trips to the
Hudson, I rarely fish more than 50 miles from home, and if I burn 10
gallons in a month in the boat, it's a lot.

I did pick up a used kayak to fish a couple no-motors-at-all lakes last
year, but only used it once. Maybe I'll fish from the yak a little more
often this year. Gotta take a-hole lessons first though, so I'll fit in
with the yak crowd.

....it's an election year. I'm expecting promises without resolution.

$3.27 and climbing here in Northern Indiana.... Everyday it's gone up 3
except for the 2nd, that's when the BIG jump cames, .20 cents...

Think it'll make it to $4.00 a Gal. like their prediction??

Yep, they will climb it up well over 4, back it off to just under, and
then raise it back up to a few cents over. Just like they did at 2 & 3.
Its about desensitization. When you have seen gas at 4.59 then 4.09 will
seem cheap.
