I've gotten a lot of mileage out of that story... Seemed a bit
Twilight-zonish at the time.

I haven't been here for a while, and haven't really been fishing in
about 3 years, but I'm thinking about changing one of those things.

heck, I hope you can change BOTH of those things. Good to hear you have been
mending, Stan. I've missed you at the Penn's Claves(next year, BTW, is the
10th annual, keep us in mind).

I dropped in last week for the first time in quite a while....

Glad to hear you're getting back to life and congrats on the degree.
I've been "planning" to do the same for just about as long as you did
but never made it.

I was on the Cape with my brother last month, went down to Morris
Island, remembered the trip with you and Gary, I'm pretty sure it was
a good four years ago, and started wondering about what had happened
to you.

I ran into Gary on the Cape last year.

If you're planning a trip into the Buzzard's Bay area, look up the
Elizabethans. They may be the closest thing to undeveloped landscape
in that part of the NE coast. I fished off of them in a boat one long
day, a beautiful setting and lots of stripers.

..... and if you're looking for volunteers, I'd be interested: I hoped
to get back to CC for a long weekend during the fall run.

We do a Catskills trip the first weekend of June in Roscoe if you want

I know about that, and every year I talk to Jimmy about taking you up
on some hospitality. Did you go last month?

After the physical beating I took a few years ago I've been fighting
my way back to health, and took some time off from leisure time to
finish my BS in math and physics (I dropped out in 1976 with six
liberal arts courses to go - and now, 35 years later, I don't feel
more "educated", just more "credentialed"). Hanging around with a
bunch of young college students was a lot of fun though and I'm
thinking about keeping my student ID valid.

I've also taken the time to become more educated on the goodness of
beer and fine bourbons. I've been liking Taras Boulba in the first
category and Buffalo Trace in the second, but tastes and times vary,
and should.

My fly tying stuff is all stored away - I have more flies that I can
shake a stick at (so to speak).

Planning ahead - some friends were chatting about a recent striper and
blues expedition to Martha's Vineyard, and that reminded me of the
first (alnd last) time I tried that in Chatham a few years back - do
Gary or Greg ever show up here any more? Anyways, for the New English
types, I'm talking to friends about planning an early fall trip to the
Buzzards Bay area - many people have recomended canoe/kayak fishing in
Buttermilk Bay - paddlig around, watching the birds for bait fish
clues. The weekend I'm thinking of coincides with a Trout Unlimited
event at Redbrook (good food, good raffles, great cause - supporting
one of the last sea run brook trout streams in New England).

How 'bout them Celtics, eh?

Oh, man...did they get caught cheating, too...?

Good to hear from you and glad things are looking up,
R
