I finally got around to taking the pics off the camera.
Here's a few from the campsite in the Boundary Waters.
I took the 6wt and a handful of Sneaky Petes but didn't
get around to wetting a line. Puppies aren't the world's
best fishing partners. ;-)

Great shots. I am a little surprized at her color. Thought she would
be more yellow. But she is a beaut regardless her color. She needs
to go swimming at Lakewood with Jenny (hinthint). d;o)

Thanks Louie, I'm somewhat fond of her even if she hasn't
learned to leave the fly line alone yet.

I don't know about Lakewood, do you realize how much great
trout water I have to drive right past to get to Maine ?
Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, man that's a lot to pass
by and long way to go to fish a tailwater. ;-)

True, but where else in the States can you consistantly catch *native*
trophy brook trout in the 5+ pound range, and equally large and
downright nasty landlocked salmon that will tail walk a pool and leave
you gasping?

One of my friends, a guide on the Rapid, is getting married to one of
the waitresses at Lakewood. The wedding is in a field next to the
Magalaway River in Wilson Mills on an October Saturday. I'm thinking
of going up and float the East Outlet of Moosehead (The Kennebec) for
a couple of days before the wedding. The Rapid closes on the last day
of September, but the Kennebec is open until the end of October.
Great fishing with streamers and nymps. Not much surface action that
late in the season. And, it is *cold*.

Some of us are planning on wearing our waders and vests to the
wedding. It would be appropriate. Chris (the guide) plans on taking
Liz to Montana for their honeymoon. Under his tutelage, she has
become a great flyfisher.

I could tell you, but then ... well, you know. ;-)

Hint: they go into Lake Superior, grow *real* big then return home.
A 7wt isn't too much rod.

I'm going to get up to Boulder Junction as soon as Kaylin gets
the OK from the vet. She was spayed last Friday and has nine
stitches in her belly due to come out Tuesday. The Wisconsin/
Michigan trout season ends Sept. 30 so I hope to get some last
minute trout fishing in before I concentrate on muskies and smallies.
Next year we'll add grouse hunting to the schedule, she'll be
almost 18 months by then and ready to start hunting. I love late
September/October, it's a great time to be in the Midwest.
