![]() Uh oh! Apparently the NZ fishing wasn't so good. It wasnt bad, just alot different than Montana fishing. Let s just day I caught about 1/2 the fish I did with Paul and Warren in a couple hours on the Yellowstone and way more yesterday on the Mo. I ll do a TR when I get some pix back. The Mo finally hit 40 degrees yesterday and it seemed to turn on. Good nymphing in the afternoon and pods of rising fish towards evening. I was fishing the cliffs above Craig. The SW wind which had been blowing all day had finally died down. Lot s of midges on the water. Had taken 2 or 3 and missed some others before a nice jumping brown dispersed the pod I had been working. I t was a wonderful feeling to miss a fish ! In NZ you miss a fish and that maybe your shot for the day, in MT there s plenty of other chances. Moved down to the next and on the way saw some bank feeders, which usually are bigger fish... First cast was in an overhanging dead tree. Second cast was in what was left of the tree after I demolished it retrieving the first fly..... And then just as I was preparing to cash in... out of the N comes typhoon force winds. The temp dropped 5 degrees in 10 seconds. Within 30 the river had white caps, by the time I reached the road, spray from the river was all over the place. The car was rocking and I didn t even try to get my rod apart or change. There were plumes of thick dust being raised over the newly turned fields which darkened the sky, looked like forest fire season had begun early..... Today we re getting wet snow, I guess that s Spring in MT ! I hate to say it but Paul, Warren and RW, you should have been here yesterday G MT |

He must have stopped off at the post office. I just sent him a package. He
should be there in five to fifteen. john "pw" wrote in message news ![]() He was supposed to be at my house a couple of hours ago so we could go fishing.
