Default Forceps and Knots

Very different knot. I described how to tie a clinch not with hemostats,
not a surgeons knot.
Scott

Indeed you did.

the fastest fly on tippet knot I've seen tied was by one of the guys at
TroutHunter on the HFork

get the fly on the leader,
hold the standing part in one hand on one side of the fly and the tag in the
other hand and side of fly ... the tippet taut
rotate the tag between thumb and first finger the six times ( takes practice
to get the count right, but not a lot of practice )
Bring the two hands together and --viola, the fly rotates six times and you
slip the tag through the now formed loop
can be done faster than saying "tie a knot" after the fly is on the tippet

I think if I tried some of these things without pictures, I'd end up in a
flourocarbon birdsnest suit that Houdini couldn't get out of.

Last year, I watched Warren whip through some knots using his forceps.
Very quick. Does anyone out there know of a webpage that shows this?

I agree with Frank, but Warren's not actually tying knots with his
hemostats. He just wads it up in a huge tangle, pulls it tight, and trims
the tag! Seems to work. (g)

It sounds as if it needs to be spit on/wet before pulling the know
tight...does it look like the leader is singed? It could also be a bad lot
of tippet, or just plain bad tippet.
