Anyone who uses the cheap Abu's exclusively isn't a bass fisherman.

You really hurt my feelings with the nasty comment about Abu reels..
grinWhat reels should I be using to becaome a real bass fisherman?
Actually I haven't caught a catfish in many years, You might take your
off topic religion stuff elsewhere..

Catfish Charlie Summers is the group's resident catfish expert. I'm sure
that he can help you put some catfish back in your live well, especially if
you are trying to target bass.

If you don't want anyone to get the wrong idea, try to be clear. I don't
understand what you object to.

What I object to is posting something not related to bass fishing here -
especially something on a topic like religion. Don't we get enough junk in here
as it is?
Let's drop this thread, and go back to fishing!

HOT DAWG! Did I get promoted to "good ol boy"? How come nobody told me?
I've only been here about a year and always felt like an outsider.
Thanks AJH, but to quote someone with a lot more experience than I have:
"What does this have to do with bass fishing..?"

I think I did, on Dec. 9, 2 days after it started. But the only fishing
I've had any luck with was a 32# 5 fish limit on Okeechobee courtesy of
Trophy Bass 4.

As I was reading this, I was thinking "Cool!" Then I got to the Trophy Bass 4
part, and I wasn't quite as impressed ).

But that's still more fishing than I've done!

Spoon,
You are correct in your observation about the tenor of the new venture.
I don't know all the particulars about their drift from In Fishermen, but
did hear it was related to thier desire to be more overt about their
religious beliefs.

If I also recall correctly, Ron had a real addiction to alcohol and it
nearly ruined his life. I do believe after a binge he hit a Billy G. revival
meeting or one of the other evangelist and it was the beginnning of his
recovery for which he is very and appropriately grateful to Heavenly Father.
Thus I think, at least the more open and direct reflection of those
feelings. I'm sure his brother Al is right beside him.

I think the site and the new show is great. We just don't have enough
overt positive feelings about religion in this country as a whole. In fact
one of the things I love the most about my travels down south, especially
to Nashville area, is the overt patriotism and religious feelings of the
people we run into.

hope this sheds some light on your question. Have a good week and tight
lines.

I certainly feel closest to God when I'm fishing, and I can think of a whole
lot worse things than religeon that are being "pushed" on society these
days. I see no difference in the Lindner's actions then that of a football
player crossing himself after scoring a touchdown. It's all about the right
to express ourselves any way want & the right to worship any way we want,
Two of many rights we all have as Americans.

Thank God for that.

Happy Holidays to the ROFB crew.

I was just perusing the new Linder brothers website
and I got curious about religion is it me or are they now
really into the religion thing? I would not knock it at all to each their
own and all and I always knew that the in fisherman was a Christian
publication but the new edge stuff seems to have "come out of the closet"

as
far as religion goes.
what bothers me about it and it is a very small bother is that it very
subtly being pushed which I disagree with.
anyone else feel that way?
Wayne
