Al does pretty good trolling with those "broken rods" I am amazed how
many fish he catches over and over again..

I happened to snap a rod the other night while fishing with some other lads.
The cello was still on the handle and advice given from the lads was to return
it. It is not rocket science to see the advantage of the cello.

I'm very surprised that your young, gay, friends would suggest that. Snapping a
rod is rarely a manufacturing defect. It's most often due to misuse.

Yes. It makes the nice, comfortable cork handle feel like a piece of
cheap plastic. It makes it slippery when wet, too. Advantages beyond the
grasp of rocket scientists the world over.
