Well, our new pal fsdfasdfsd certainly does post prolifically
even though he/she/it is an anonymous nitwit with the vocabulary
of a not quite bright twelve year old. We can be grateful for
one thing I guess, at least he/she/it isn't a top poster. ;-)

Notice if you will, his "nomme de plume." The wonderful use of the left
hand. He attempts to throw us off by only using his left in that name. I
truely believe its a red herring. He may be a lefty, but I deduce, from his
oneirogmophobic style, he is indeed a conservative. Watch this one, he's
crafty.

I always keep a few of Big Dale's foam spiders (gurglers with legs) in my
chest pack. I've caught 7 or 8 species on them. A size 14 Ausable Wullf
with an orange head is a good second choice.

Dumb question or not, I would pick a size 10 black wooley bugger and/or
a size 14 yellow humpy and a beadhead prince nymph (or a gold ribbed
hares ear in place of the prince). See, can't pick just one fly!

------------
Girdle Bug for me -- I have caught one steelhead, numerous trout, whitefish,
smallmouth bass, largemouth bass (okay is was only 1/2 pound, at most),
crappie, bluegill, and a few perch.

Chris

By the way, has anybody else every heard of the single fly competition?

OK, so I have to look like a smat ass and pick one of my flies, but
the weamer pattern has taken more different species for me than any
other fly. So there . . .

Much underrated--or forgotten--fly. I've settled into a rut when it comes
to tool flies, usually opting these days for a tungsten-headed Prince in
#12 or 14, or a #6-10 stonefly nymph (often a quasi-Kaufmann's but usually
a Brooks). I need to be remembering the girdle bug more for this
purpose. Many days a stone killer on the Deschutes.
