I saw this at ICAST and thought it to be nothing more than a fishing novelty
toy. I cannot imagine anyone seriously using it. I know I won't.

LOL. That's funny. There is a much better quality line launcher used for
cable pulling in the low voltage industry. Basically the same thing sans
the fishing rod. Even then those of us who run wire and cable for a living
have found it to be mostly a toy.

This isn't a joke, is it? Cause, if it is, I'm missing the punch line...

Unfortunately Chris, it's not a joke. I saw it (or an extremely similar
product) at ICAST where it (if memory serves me correctly) was awarded
"Best New Product of the Show"!!!

This gives me serious doubts about the fishing tackle industry.

I remember meeting the guy that invented this thing is Oklahoma last year.
He had a booth across from Secret Weapon, and we watched the guy all week.
He's a very nice guy and has spent a fortune fine tuning his gun/toy, and if
you recall... I mentioned this when I returned back to Nashville. I also
picked up a ton of fishing line (10700yds) from him at a great price!

Still, even after I met him again at ICAST... I doubt that I'd ever have a
use for his gun/toy. He has sold a lot of them, but I can only imagine that
it would be for kids. You gotta hand it to the guy for having enough faith
in it to invest all that money. I hope he does well. At least he hasn't come
in here telling everyone that unless you own one... you'll never catch a
fish again! (If you know what I mean)

I never made that claim, of course what difference does that make, You
made the claim your Spinner bait was the best one out there,, I didn't
question that, I made the claim my rig was the best rig, not that it was
the only rig, I would not have put it on the market if it was not better
than all others,, same for my weight, and my hook. If it's not better
than what's on the market, no manufacturer would want to license any of
them.

You sure know how to stir the pot, don't ya?
:-)

Seems comical to me. I kinda thought it was a joke, myself. I guess I
still do...
Oh well, it's just good to see the spam cops are still roaming the streets,
keeping us all safe! (if you know what I mean)
