I donīt know anything at all about hatches in the Rockies, moreīs the pity, but I do know that this group deteriorates more with every passing insult and bitterness that is published here. Any "outsider", and most "insiders" reading this stuff would have to be crazy to want to have any part of it. The only thing that really puzzles me, is, what is the point of it all? Is there any point at all? Once upon a time, I laboured under the quite obviously massive misapprehension that anglers were gentlemen. This group has certainly taught me the error of my ways. The insults, and the flames, and all the other similar stuff here is bad enough, but what eventually simply wears one out, even just reading the stuff, is that it is mostly silly and boring, and has virtually nothing to do with fishing, or with gentlemen either. Most unfortunate, and extremely depressing to boot. MC i agree. it's more difficult, day by day. the bitterness is becoming overwhelming. the disputes, long ago, seemed to be an invitation to relatively respectful intellectual contests. but since 40 and wolfgang have sworn to bilious confrontations until the end of time, a sort of gloom has settled over the place, for me. I agree wholeheartedly. The intellectual tugs-of-war and goodhearted jabs that used to happen here were a real source of admiration and humor, and I used to have a lot of respect for different people's wit and cleverness. But now, instead of looking forward to some people's responses, I just brace for the inevitable implosion. Roff is rapidly losing a lot of its fun, and its tiresome to see thread after thread become some sort of dare of how vitriolic and assaultive someone can get, dragging out old laundry, dragging out 'facts' and reliving old history. Its like arguing with on old girlfriend! Hell, even with all the unfettered condescention, people treated George better than most folks are treating each other here these days! "Village Idiot" pales in comparison to "stupid, lying, sanctimonious little prick", among other things tossed around. --riverman |

That wasn't a 10-rounder; I was telling him that he plays tiresome games with people, and he was playing those same tiresome games with my posts. I quit when Tim pointed out that you can't get that point across to him. I don't do hate-fests. One word for the whiners, killfiles. I know I could killfile folks, Ken, but I really would rather not! You and I have never had any beef, and despite the vitriol that is slinging about, I still want to read your posts, find out more about who you are, and fish with you if the opportunity arises. It just brings me down when they are hate posts, and there are a lot more of them these days, it seems. And just killing that thread doesn't help either, because the effects radiate out to all the other threads. When I meet you and fish with you someday, I want more than a vague sense that you are the guy who slings such anger all the time as my basis of potential friendship. And (this part is important): not liking the vibe around here is my point of view. I'm not 'jumping on Wayno's whine wagon'; which is tantamount to choosing sides in some sort of Hatfield/McCoy feud. I'm telling it like it is. The vibe around here has gone pretty sour, and you're one of the major contributors. I just cannot figure out why. --riverman |

Well, if you consider Western Sweden to count, I'm pretty sure there was no camaraderie between Jarmo and the mosquitoes. --riverman |
