Well, HELLO !! It's not like I GAVE them away. I thought everybody
pretty much knew the story, but for those out of the loop, those
slippers were stolen from the Wicked Witch of Wisconsin. Now, rw,
Louie, Wayno and Connor are off to see Bill Kiene who will give rw
a subscription to Ms. Magazine, Louie a ticket to the Democratic
National Convention and Wayno a xeroxed copy of bachelors degree
from the University of Illinois. Mike will take three sips of scotch
and be transported to his new estate on the west coast of Scotland.
Wayne Knight will still be stuck with the dog.

Three "sips" of scotch? Hardly worth the trip! West coast of Scotland?
That sounds a bit better. Cape Wrath perhaps? Sigh, whatever I do I
end up with a bloody cape!

Weīre off to fish in a blizzard, the worst ever blizzard that was,
with our capes and our gowns and our slippers,
but we donīt care at all because,

ROFFians prancing in satin, is really quite the rage,
especially while wielding a Winston, a KPOS or a Sage,

Fortenberry will lead the procession, really a fine cavalcade,
with his ruby slippers and satin,
he will put them all in the shade.

Wolfgang will be rather grumpy, as fashion is really his thing,
to avoid being eclipsed by others,
he will wear black pumps and a string.

ROFFians dancing and laughing, will really be a fine sight,
friendly and happy and gentle, ( Who writes this nonsensical ****e?).

RW may well be disgruntled, indeed he may even pass,
he tends to get all hot and bothered,
when one mentions another manīs ass.

Bill Kiene will of course be directing, with a multiple directors stick,
advising on new combinations,
that really look svelte and chic.

ROFFians grinning and posing, what a fantastic event,
even some of the whiners, may well join in and repent.

Wayno will address those assembled, and of course quite loudly declaim,
that the ****ing newbies are arseholes,
and the *******s just give him a pain.

Willi will be searching for water, and carefully sorting his flies,
in the hope of a massive emergence,
while the nonsense he sadly decries.

ROFFians working together, oh what a frabjious day,
giving real good advice and examples, while going their wonderful way.

Mr. LaCourse will be guiding, preventing too much of a lag,
and of course in the pauses revolting,
and occasionally waving a flag.

A lot will be carrying tackle, brandishing stuff with great glee!
Fibreglass, bamboo, and graphite,
such a load as you never will see.

Cyli will be holding good order, keeping some folk in their place,
while struggling with oversize waders,
and getting quite red in the face.

The newbies will take up the rearguard, be obliged to pick up the ****,
subjected of course all the while,
to considerable insult and wit.

Such a ROFFian conclave, would be a fantastic event,
but I fear it is highly unlikely,
most would strive this event to prevent!

Apologizing on ROFF is very easy. It's not dissimilar from jumping the
queue into the National Guard -- a free ticket out of jail. Apologizing
FOUR TIMES for EXACTLY the same thing must get easier with each
repetition.

Oh no, sincerely apologizing for something you know your own
human condition has a propensity for repeating is much harder.
It's simple to ignore those aspects of our personalities, much
harder to deal with them and acknowledge when they've been used.

I believe he is sincere, but the great thing about apologizing
is that its benefit to the initiator is independent of how it
is received. If he knows he's sincere, he has the healing he is
seeking. Apologizing doesn't make us perfect, doesn't mean we
won't fail again, it just recognizes that we did. And its the
acme of what a real man can do.

I do hope to see you both fishing the same river again, both
sharing the table at the Sportsman while we wait for our green
chile cheeseburgers. Dave's a good guy and so are you. I enjoy
both of your posts. Some of your one-liners are great.

Jon.

Interestingly enough, it was another Bill Murray vehicle that depicted "near

/daytripper (who - according to the SO - just didn't get it...)

Lost in Translation is my favorite movie of this year,

turns out it's my mom's fave movie of the year. (who knew? dear old
mom...) the movie was written by sophia coppola, and it does have
some key female aspects to it (ie. no fireballs or car chases).

did anyone else notice in the dvd extras, that sophia's everyday
demeanor is a virtual mirror of scarlett johansson's performance?
lol. i'll bet sophia coppola is the kind of gal who likes to spend
all day walking around the house barefoot and with little more than
panties and a tshirt on. and i'll also bet she has a thing for goofy,
graying men like bill murray.

and there've been
some good ones. I also liked The Station Agent, Pieces of April, and
Mystic River.

You have to admit, Daytripper, that Scarlett Johansen is hot. :-)
