Put it in a zip lock freezer bag and keep it out of the
sun. It will even float if your boat sinks.

I actually have two storage areas, besides the boat glovebox. West Marine
sells a Chart Book and a case for it. The case is a giant, heavy plastic
ziplock with a zipper arrangement. I also use a clear ~4" tube they sell
for a lot of the other charts and paperwork and clothespins to hold stuff
from flying about.

All maps are carefully stacked and stored in a pile. Until it falls over.
Which then leads to 2 smaller piles.
Which then continue to grow and fall over thereby creating a single pile
again. Repeat as needed.
I use the same system for tax records, monthly bills, and hate mail to the
ex.

but as I am finding out it is only a six year system then your forced to
climb the pile and really do something about it
I think I am at 12 piles now.
