first i switched to another account becasue of that snafu with my e-mail,
(yeah, tim, the one where i was soliciting funds :-} ), then i had trouble
sending e-mail through it, so i did switch to a yahoo account - but no
longer had walt's e-mail addy.

That makes sense. Errrrr, not having Walt's email versus soliciting
funds..... g

damn warren, get out of my head- that's just scary!! BSEG

Hmmmmm, so many possibilities with that one........

i was with ya up to there. as a matter of fact, i pinged wally with some
hesitation, figuring i would probably hear about. i just wanted him to know
i was sending a freind of mine out his way, particularly since i have
requested a favor of this fella while he is there.

Dat's coo. I haven't been following ROFF that closely for the past few
months and basically had been seeing a lot of "pings" and a few
"complaints" when I did browse ROFF's meager offerings so thought I
would attempt to explain.

no- you can just answer the last e-mail i sent you- smart ass ;-))

I've been busier than a three peckered rabbit during breeding season
between work, moving, my daughter, company, remodeling the drift boat,
etc. Hell, I haven't even sent the email I was intending to send to Tom
Brown when I pinged him! :-(

i didn't feel like he was trying to be a dick, i just responded in the same
(as i interpreted it) tongue in cheek form in which he responded to my
post - it wasn't meant to be confrontational. *ya'll must have missed my
smilie*.

While your smile adds considerably to this place, I was unable to
interpret it because I was unaware of the relationship between you and
Tim. But it is in writing now.....

i think it's only been a few in the past couple of weeks, (i think)

Hell, half the time I don't even know what the date is....

Somebody else: What's the date today?

Me: September?????

no, that's not the reason i gave for pinging him, the reason i gave is that
my mail/ server has been ****ed up.

Freakin' newbies...... g

i can dig it warren.

Damn hippy...... BSEG

i didn't mean to be annoying with pings, nor has
"pinging" been something i have a "history" of doing on roff. it's just
been a few as of late related to my server issues-

Well **** me if I was wrong!.!.!.!.!. g

by the way, i sent you a note on my "newest" yahoo account the other day.
did you get it?

Yes I did receive it. Between work, moving, being lazy, etc I haven't
gotten around to doing many of the things that I have been meaning to do
lately..... Realizing just how lazy I have been on my only day off has
motivated me to get my ass in gear though. Time to go run some errands
then pick up my daughter, run some more errands, unpack more crap, go
pick up a few more boxes and get this place cleaned up. I'll drop you a
line later tonight once I get my daughter to sleep.

Yeah, I could have emailed this to you but
then others who are newbies who are likely to repeat the mistake
wouldn't learn from this. My guess is that Tim was trying to teach
you something (he wasn't trying to be a dick IMO)

I read your response with the tongue-in-cheek intended.

Here's another tip: ALWAYS interpret posts as if a smiley exists, or at least
make an attempt to clarify the intent. Wayno and I have a similar agreement.
Just a few days ago, Warren and I almost arrived at fisticuffs until he
clarified his intent. Lucky for him, let me tell you. . . ;-)

.. . .and ALWAYS (this is very important part of the tip) read Forty's posts as
if there's a smiley after each sentence.

Embrace it, love it, *use* it.

TL,
Tim
who has been successfully emailing wally for a few years now at several
email addys.

would have been happy to e-mail him, except that i have been having trouble
sending stuff with the new e-mail account i set up (you know, to avoid
accidentally posting e-mails to roff?)
thanks, for the tip, though :-)

anyway, i dare say, i'd rather see one roffian ping another with some happy,
kindly, helpful, friendly, *whatever*, content than to see this vile ****
that has been going around here lately. some folks need to get out and fish
more. that said, i expect to be in the water in about fifteen minutes.

snake

(btb- i thought i pinged wally......)
