Screw the Harrier. I'm looking at getting us one of the new VTOL Joint Strike Fighters. Optics are so good you can pinpoint the spin fisherman in the middle of a bunch of fly fishermen and take him out with a precision 500 pounder. Overkill, and risking collateral damage, but otherwise ethical. :-) -- Cut "to the chase" for my email address. |

Isn't that the plane-o-chopper that the top Marine brass kept falsifying reports on? Mark --those daring young men and there sometimes flyin' machines.-- |

Yeah that's the craft I want to crash in! Isn't that the plane-o-chopper
that the top Marine brass kept falsifying reports on? Nah, that was the V-22 Osprey. The Osprey has most of the bugs worked out of it and is now a pretty fine aircraft, but it doesn't (at least not operationally) fire missiles or drop bombs. Its a transport. The F-35B is the Marine Corps STOVL (Short Take Off - Vertical Landing) version of the JSF. Its the replacement for the Harrier. -- Frank Reid Reverse Email to reply |
