Yeah, the skis are definitely a better mode of transportation
but I can't wade in ski boots. I can put rubbers on my wading
boots and step right into, and out of, snowshoes.

Well it looks as if there are ski trails that follow the river. But
seriously unless its a good snow year (and it isn't predicted to be
one) that part of MN doesn't usually get enough snow to warrant either
skis or snowshoes.

And I've never combined fishing and skiing myself anyway - I just like skis
way better than snowshoes.

As in so many things, there is a continuum. Unlike many continua, this one
is characterized (at least in part) by a peculiar lack of gray area.
Generally speaking, when the fishing is good, the skiing (and snowshoeing)
sucks......large. When the skiing is good, the fishing
sucks.......magnificently. There is an exceptionally broad area between the
extremes in which both of them suck beyond any need to describe in
excruciating and superfluous detail.

Wolfgang
oh yeah, and snowshoeing sucks.
