I'm pleading self defense!
There I was on the river, playing with my new Martin spinner, minding
my own business when all of a sudden this bass comes out of no where &
grabs it. Well I paid good money for that spinner & I wasn't about to
let anyone, let alone a bass, take it from me without a fight. It was a
long 5 minute tug of war with that bass, he was using all his tricks to
relieve me of my new toy. He would try to wrap my line in submerged tree
limbs or wrap around some weeds to break it. I finally wrestled him on
to the bank & went to retrieve my lure when all of a sudden he flared
his gills & started flopping, very threating like, so I had no other
option but to dispatch him. I had the help of a priest to administer
last rights. How many anglers did that bass steal lures from we'll never
know, but I do know that with a few potatoes & peas he sure made up for it!
That' my story & I'm sticking to it!

P.S. Those of you that are ex-army I hope you still carry your plastic
spoon from the MRE's, you never know, an elephant may be lurking behind
the next tree!
