Steve,
I haven't used any of these baits alot, but I have used the lizzards and worms from both Strik King and Terminator here and there. They do catch fish, and they let me do some things other soft plastics would not. For instance, I caught a few nice small mouths at a local lake fishing a lizzard on top. They float when rigged with just a hook and make very little commotion when they hit the water, so it was perfect for casting to shallow, spooky fish. I just gave it a twitch every so often and let it sit. -Zimmy |

Hey Steve, for a insiders look at the 3x, cyber flex debate look here http://tackleunderground.com/board/v...ht=cyber+flexx Jeff No offense meant, but how is an internet message board considered to be "insider information"? The guys panning the baits over there pretty much sound like regular fishermen. The baits work fine, some people are just resistent to change. |

Evreyone on that bord is also a bait manufacturer. We do it either for a
living, or at least part time. I have a buisness of making soft plastics. What works, what doesnt, pros and cons and evreything in between. Im not saying that I know EVREYTHING to do with soft plastic baits, But I do have a working knowlage what it takes. Im quite sure that by searching this site you will find out that yes we are fishermen, we use what we sell, We dont fill it full of fluff and spend a million dollars on advertizing to make people think it works. Get the money and forget if it works. By the way if Im just a fisherman, ask Steve if the baits that were sent to him are custom made or are they what you will buy in wal-mart or any other store. Hey Steve,I have had good success with the lizards C-rigged and to get the
Flukes (Zulus) to sink I put a piece of "suspend strips" on the hook shank and they falll nicely. In experimenting with these superfloater baits I rigged a Zoom lizard next to a 3X Floater and watched them both in shalllow water, the Zoom just lay thee while the 3X was reallly floating nicely and fishing for a bite. It's hard for me to switch since I have used Zoom since I had hair! Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers wrote in message ... Hi guys, I have a question for you out there. The local Wal-Mart is having a close out sale on Strike King 3X soft plastic lures. They're selling for a buck a bag, which if I remember correctly is about $2.50 off. I don't have any experience with them but I have heard that they're very durable with a high float factor (for lack of a better term). Because of that, my friend Gil doesn't like the Fluke type lures. He says that they don't sink well and are hard to get to work properly. Have you used any of this line of lures? What do you think of them? Which ones have been more productive in your experience? I'd like to pick up a bunch as it's a good price, but I'd rather not spend the money if they're not going to get used. I've got enough of those type lures already. For that matter, at the risk of sounding like Al, if there is a Wal-Mart near you, check the sporting goods department for close outs. I picked up some Eagle Claw LazerSharp hooks, 1/0, 2/0 and 3/0, 25 count packages, for $1.50 each. I prefer Gamakatsu hooks, but I've used these in the past and they've been good to me. They hook fish and stay hooked, so I guess they do what they need to do. It's a good time to stock up on supplies, I do this every spring and save a bunch of money. -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |

I found that they are so sticky that a hook point can get caught on the plastic and hinder the hook set. I stopped skin hooking them and that helped. I used the lizard on a t-rig and a c-rig. Caught lots of bass on one lure. They do stick together a little but I didn't think they stayed stuck in the water. Grigsby did a show using the new Zero (can you say senko copy?) and it looks like it is a good bait. Richard g www.bassstalkers.com |

Steve,
Used them a bit last year, at a Buck a bag grab all the zulu's(flukes ) you can, they work great burning across lillypads and stuff. Wal mart here does the clearance thing too and they are at 1.75 per bag. When they hit a buck I'll take em all. They also have powerbait bungees for a 1.75, when they hit a buck I'll take the rest "Richard g" wrote in message news ![]() On Thu, 12 Feb 2004 16:24:54 -0600, "Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers" wrote: Hi guys, Have you used any of this line of lures?
