All,
I'm going with my wife for a two day conference in Turin Italy. Anybody know if there is decent fishing near the city? I figure if I can get a day on the river in that might be better than wondering the city by myself... Thanks, Randy |

There's a lot of fly fishing near Turin. Your problem, for a "day on the river", especially if you don't speak Italian (and even if you do), will be getting the proper permits and finding the proper stretches of water without spending days doing it. You will want a guide service that can do this for you *well* (i.e. weeks) before the day you want to fish. I don't know anyone around Turin who does this. You might try calling or emailing: Orvis Shop, Torino Via Stampatori, 19/e (39) 011 5185082 or Fly Time, Torino (39) 011 8174123 Failing that, contact these good fellows in Florence and see if they will do it or if they have any English-speaking colleagues around Torino. http://www.flyfishingitaly.com/Tours.htm JR |

You're advice is much appreciated. Wait. I like it here, and I suspect many here care about FFing as much (well, almost as much g) as I do. By "waste of time" I meant folks who drop in only to ask about advice for a particular area and then never respond at all to the advice and never post a TR of their trip.... Glad you appreciated whatever I could offer. Hope if you do go fishing, you will let us know how it was. And if you don't, there are two interesting art exhibits going on in Turin now (at the Promotrice Belle Arte and at the Fondazione Accorzi) that you could attend and review for us.... JR |

When you have succeeded in creating your own private army of reference librarians, you may feel free to jam them in whichever bodily orifice best suits your pleasure, Until that time, one suspects you'll have to try to make due with the world as you find it. You're advice is much appreciated. As was your absence. Wolfgang |

Kinda like the above, you mean? You're advice is much appreciated. Yeah, JR is sweet that way. It's really the only reason we keep him around. So.... you got what you came for? Good. Now don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. .. . . and, yes, Cyli you still have this job. I just try to help out when I can. ;-) -- TL, Tim ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |
